The Originals versus Fakes

real_fake_0The price of name brand bags is continuously rising as well as the quality of counterfeit products.  I have seen both and couldn’t tell the difference until the differences were pointed out by an expert.  I guess it got to the point where unless you know what the original supposed be like, it is difficult to distinguish the originals from fakes.

This pastor’s corner has nothing to do with providing tips on how to tell the differences between the originals and fakes for I am not qualified to give those tips.  However, let me make some general observations between the original and fake products whether they are bags, clothes, jewelries, or electronics.

The original items sell by themselves because of the name.  Rather than practicality or functionality, the power is in the brand name.  They don’t offer coupons or give discount for seasonal sales.  Their detailing goes beyond visible area to every crevice and they are not reluctant to use the top quality materials.  The original name brand often backs their products with warranty.

On the other hand, fake (also cheap) products are screaming for attention.  They push flashy look, functionality and practicality more than the quality and brand name.  They imitate the areas that are visible but not so much in hidden areas.  Their purpose is to sell, thus, they don’t easily take responsibility after sale.  Not to mention, the price is lower, there are coupons, special sales, and offer various discounts.

One thing I have noticed these days is that there are increasing number of people who are begging for attentions through their possession, position, achievement, and looks.  They drive luxury cars, wear designer brand clothes, carry name brand bags, beautify themselves with jewelries and even have aesthetic surgeries to make them more attractive.  They definitely look great OUTSIDE but I wonder if they are well INSIDE.

David said in Psalm 62:5, “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.”  He is the one who also said, “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.”  I believe David knew what real living is… finding happiness and contentment IN God only.  Let’s live the “real” life that God has intended from the Genesis.  Then, I am sure others can tell that we are “originals.”

Have a wonderful week!
